Mafia II Minecraft Contest

Kish has recently come into the possession of an extra copy of Mafia II, so instead of just giving it away, he wants to make a contest out of it. So he has decided that Mafia II will be given to the person who wins.

Contest Rules and Explanations:
The point of the contest is to, of course, win Mafia II. (proof of key here: http://i.imgur.com/HUWDI.png)

However - the game in question for the contest you will be playing is Minecraft.
To win the contest, you must build something that will make the judges, simply, go "wat", awe, or both. This IS rather vague, but I'm sure most of you can come up with something.

Rules:
1. Inventory editing IS allowed - Just no world editing.
2. The seed used will be "vividcontest1~"
3. This should all be done in survival single-player.
4. Submissions should be sent in by screenshots, take as many as needed
5. Submit everything to this blog post

Minor Note: If no one enters the contest Dibblet wins the game by default

Contest will end August 5.
Any questions should be directed to:

Summer Stream Vote

Hey folks. According to our calendars, summer is only a day away from being in full swing, although I imagine you're already feeling the heat. Here's hoping the next few months will be cool ones for you all.

This post is really just for putting up an open-ended question to everyone who enjoys visiting Vivid: What would you like to see here this summer? We've thrown a lot of ideas around for different streams, not all of them necessarily about vidya, and we'd like some input. Here are just a few of those ideas:

--Marathon vidya streams (for any streamers that are willing)
--Vivid tournaments (board games, children's card games, fighting games, etc.)
--Game tutorial streams (Dorf Fortress/Chess/Go/etc.)
--Lecture streams (just a discussion about a topic for around 30 minutes from those willing to share)
--Awful Movie Night
--Weekly vidya trivia (Just for kicks)

Or if all else fails, we'll watch Derrek run in circles and giggle. I think we can all appreciate that.

I don't really care about formality in terms of collecting votes, so just let me know when you see me or Media or Dibb if you like any of the above ideas or others you come up with. Just trying to do something different.

See you in chat.

BOMBCHU'S ARTUM RECORD BREAKING STREAM!

It's time, for so long has the mighty record of Artum's stream held, passing the threshold from hours to days, now shall the age of Artum's marathon fall to the mighty Bombchu. Coming at you live here at VividVidya at midnight central, either we will witness the rise or fall of the one known as Bombchu.

To cast the shackles of anime streams away from Vivid, Bombchu's attempt to bring Vidya back to the site can kill him. Fighting the enemies of time, exhaustion, sleep, it won't be easy. In fact, Bombchu isn't ready for this just yet, equipped with a handful of vidya, a few friends, and an attractive voice, he is thrust into the position of a savior, will Bombchu be able to cast off the boy he is now to become the man, nay the hero we all need.

All he asks for is your support, to cheer for him, to encourage him, to help him. Just because this is Bombchu's fight, it doesn't mean he has to fight it alone. We ask you help keep Bombchu awake by staying up as long as possible with him, playing games, telling jokes, keep up the energy and send it to him.

This one is for you Bombchu, the real Vivid Hero, may you meet your challenges, your obstacles, your demons, not with fear but with courage. For those of us about to stay up, we salute you.

Game Project: Looking for volunteers!

Hey folks. Not too much to report here, but we do have a special message from our own GentlemanGamer. As always, thanks for hanging out. --Hootey

Hey guys, as you may know, I've had a hankering to work on a game project for a while now. The fine people at Vivid have an appreciation of good games and a wide array of skills, so I would like to see if we have enough interest to get something off the ground.

The first step is to figure out who is interested in volunteering, and how many hours a week they are interested in committing to a project. The goal of this is to make a good portfolio piece for everyone involved, so we need to be mindful of what it will take to complete the project, or at least make an awesome prototype. Generally, I would like to hear from people willing to commit ~10+ hours a week for several months if directly involved in development. However, volunteers willing to help with play-testing or say, managing a repository/wiki, are more than welcome!

Even if you have already spoken to me about yourself, please list specific skills you have which might contribute to a game project. Please also list separately areas which you are interested in, but have little experience. If this progresses further, we are very likely to be using Skype a lot. So, with your note please also post your Skype name, or PM/e-mail me your Skype info. Don't worry about providing a portfolio or examples, I'm just canvassing interest! Once I've got the list, I'll investigate further.

Generally useful skills:
Programming
2D/3D Content Art and Animation
Concepting
Graphic Design / Web Design
Writing
Voice Talent
Sound/Music
Game Design / Content Design
Scheduling and Production/Organization
Testing

Also, if you have an area of expertise that isn't listed here, feel free to put it down! There are a lot of ideas that can originate from other skill sets or knowledge bases, e.g. backgrounds in academic disciplines or fields.

This information will be very important going forward, and deciding what is feasible when it comes time for brainstorming.

Thanks!

Autopilot Recommendations

Photo of a big bunny rabbit!

The stream has grown since we first started a little over two months ago. We had barely 8 people here when we forced them to show up, and now we have over double that number and these people show up regularly. So I thought we would finally get that verification to come through.

Sadly we didn't. Livestream gave us the same response as last time which is very vague on what we need to pick up on, "New, inactive or small channel"

Well lately we have added some new streamers and they seem to pick up the slack as needed, but there are times when the autopilot rears its ugly head and bores everyone to tears.

NOT ANYMORE!

Sorry you all had to endure that autopilot, it was necessary to give us an edge in getting verified, but since we probably will not get verified until we reach cap limit numbers, we might as well make an autopilot for everyone to enjoy and beautify that ugly head that inevitably rears its head.

Feel free to link to us any video you find entertaining enough to warrant showtime on an autopilot, and this time maybe we can have less tf2? Bonus points go for those who recommend any kind of vidya related videos
